VIOLIN INSTRUCTOR
Phoebe Tang
Born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan in 2004, Pei-Hsuan Tang began her musical journey at the age of three with piano and later discovered her passion for the violin. Demonstrating exceptional talent from an early age, she was admitted into Taiwan’s prestigious special music program during junior high school.
In 2021, Tang continued her studies at Walnut Hill School for the Arts under the guidance of Amy Galluzzo and performed with the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra affiliated with the New England Conservatory. Upon graduating from high school, she received a full scholarship to Weber State University, where she won first prize at the 2024 American String Teachers Association StringFest and second place in the Utah Music Teachers National Association “Young Artist Performance” competition. She also won the university’s concerto competition, performing the Korngold Violin Concerto with the school symphony.
Tang later transferred to the University of North Texas with another full scholarship, where she is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in violin performance. Throughout her career, she has given multiple solo recitals in Kaohsiung and has performed with the DeSheng String Orchestra in Taiwan, Australia, and Malaysia.
In addition to her extensive performance experience, Tang has participated in masterclasses with world-renowned violinists, including Simon James, Won-Bin Yim, Daniel Ching, Nai-Yuan Hu, Richard Lin, Ken-Yuen Tseng, Anna Katharina Wildermuth, Patrizia Shih, and Yun-Peng Zhou, among others.
