Yamaha Young Performing Artist Chin-Li Sophia Lo works to craft a complete musical experience on the stage as a solo percussionist. Currently based in Grapevine,TX, Lo has performed concerts in Dvorak Hall, Slovak Radio Hall, Bela Bartok National Concert Hall, as well as music festivals around the globe such as Percussion Meets Identity (Austria), the Beta Percussion International Institute, the International KatarzynaMycka Marimba Academy, the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, and the Zeltsman Marimba Festival. Lo is an award winning veteran of high profile solo competitions like Great Plains International, Mid-Missouri Percussive Arts Trophy, and the PAS California Chapter Marimba competition. In addition to her performance career, she is a passionate educator and presents masterclasses at schools in Oregon, California, and in Texas, where

she maintains a private studio. Some of her student successes include 2nd Place at 2024 Modern Snare Drum Competition and ATSSB Region Band placement. Lo is a doctoral candidate at the University of North Texas and a Heartland Marimba Artist, where she collaborates in unique concert experiences and educational outreach with her colleagues.
