Job Title: Associate Dean
Royal Music Academy is a highly respected music school situated in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) metropolitan area, with a commitment to nurturing students' love and understanding of music. The academy was established by seasoned musicians with a wealth of experience in the industry, and it offers comprehensive training in an array of musical instruments, such as piano, violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, and more. With a focus on developing students' self-expression and self-confidence, Royal Music Academy provides an array of specialized courses, including chamber music, music theory, all-region/state preparation, and Royal Conservatory exam preparation.
Royal Music Academy is committed to providing comprehensive training in a variety of musical instruments with individuals who specialize in their particular musical instruments. As such, Royal Music Academy needs the professional services of an Associate Dean to oversee and coordinate various music instruction programs. The Associate Dean is responsible for developing and implementing curricula, organizing ensemble performances, providing professional development for the faculty, and evaluating student progress. The Associate Dean will supervise full-time and part-time music instructors.
The hired individual will be responsible for the following duties:
Lessons Scheduling and Planning (30% of the time)

Design and refine modular lesson plans for students at varying proficiency levels (from beginners to advanced), ensuring alignment with recognized music education standards and Royal Conservatory exam requirements.

Collaborate with faculty to synchronize individual and group lesson schedules with academic calendars, recital timelines, and performance events, facilitating a cohesive progression across all programs.

Develop integrated curricula that combine theory, instrumental technique, and performance practice, tailoring content to match student interests, ages, and long-term musical goals.

Coordinate lesson timing and studio assignments using scheduling software or centralized systems, proactively resolving conflicts and optimizing instructor availability.
Teaching and Instruction (20% of the time)

Provide direct instruction in specialized music courses such as chamber music, music theory, etc., and support Royal Conservatory exam preparation.

Offer students with guidance on practice routines, performance techniques, and artistic expression, adapting teaching methods to diverse learning styles and developmental stages.
Resource and Instrument Management (20% of the time)

Oversee procurement and maintenance of musical instruments, equipment, and instructional materials, ensuring availability and quality for all programs.

Maintain instrument and resource inventory records, scheduled repairs, and coordinate resource usage across multiple ensembles and classes.

Ensure instruments are in proper working condition by scheduling necessary maintenance, tuning, and repairs.
Publicity Planning and Student Recruitment (15% of the time)

Plan and analyze recruitment campaigns through various methods including email outreach, social media initiatives, in-person events, and more to engage potential students.

Provide feedback on how to refine publicity and recruitment strategies and identify areas for improvement.
Management of Administrative Records (15% of the time)

Maintain accurate and complete student and faculty records as required by the school’s operational and confidentiality policies.

Maintain a catalog of the school’s lesson plans and schedules, musical repertoire, and assessment criteria.
Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in music education, music, or a related field.

2 years' work experience at a music school developing and implementing curriculum and materials for the music program.

Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Nearpod.
This is a full-time position. The salary is $47,965 per year.
